Marvel vs DC Battle Report

 I have wanted to have a game of DCUMG for sometime so I arranged with my friend to have a game at Asgard games. 

He was fielding the Red Lanterns. I decided I wanted to give Marvel some love,  so took my Avengers. We decided to play Getaway which involved both teams deploying in opposite corners and attempting to get into your opponent’s deployment zone. 

I set up first and Deployed Iron Man and Thor on the roof of a comic store with Hulk and Capt America on the ground around the sides. 

Paul set up his Lanterns in the opposite corner with Supergirl on the roof of a factory.

I went first and moved Hulk and then used his once per game Super Jump to get nearer to the Lanterns deployment zone. He tried to Thunderclap Atrocitus but failed to wound. 

Paul moved Atrocitus straight towards Hulk and used his Napalm breath causing two damage on Hulk.

Iron Man flew towards the deployment zone and ended up in the middle of the board. Supergirl flew onto a building on the right flank of the Avengers. Thor flew to join Iron Man and tried to Bring on the Thunder onto Supergirl but she just laughed it off. 

Capt America just moved his maximum 7 to try and support the rest of the Avengers. 

Zilus Zox flew over to support Dex and Atrocitus.

End of Turn 1- no scoring 

Turn 2

Paul went first and the slugfest between Hulk and Atrocitus continued with the later unleashing Vengeance blow on the Hulk causing damage. Rather than retaliating the Hulk was focused on the objective and marched forward to the deployment zone. 

Dex attacked Iron Man with his super paw attack causing 2 damage, fearing reprisals Dex used his support field to increase his defence.  Iron Man replied with his repulsor causing a pitiful 1damage.. He then flew onto the building to escape the Space Kitty. 

Unfortunately for Tony, Zilus Zox followed him and used his ankle biting attack which took Iron Man into the vulnerable zone. 

Capt America spotted Supergirl heading for the zone and retreated to defend it.

Thor tried to cause some damage on Dex but with the boost from the support field did no damage.

Iron Man failed his stamina roll and was knocked out. 

End of Turn 2- Still no score. 

Turn 3- Avengers to start.

Iron Man tried to pass his Stamina roll but failed and remained KOd. Zilus did his ankle bite attack and reduced Iron Man to one wound. He then flew across to the adjacent building. 

Supergirl flew across the square to the Avengers deployment zone. Steve charged towards the zone but was just outside. He threw his shield which bounced off Supergirls head causing 2 damage. 

Meanwhile the grudge match continued between Hulk and Atrocitus continued. Flying across, Atrocitus attacked Hulk and then picked him up and threw him out of the zone and then moved round the corner of a building. Hulk became angry as the damage piled on and came back to try and do a Hulk Earthquake attack causing 2 damage. 

Thor flew upto the building to battle with Dex and Zilus. He attempted For Asgard twice, the first time failed the second he was successful causing 2 damage on Dex and pushing him off the building. 

Turn 3- 2VP to the Lanterns for control of the Avengers deployment zone. 

Turn 4- Hulk and Atrocitus continued to battle each other but they soaked up the damage and stood their ground. 

Thor jumped down and avenged Tony by using For Midgard to dispatch Dex. 

Zilus flew across to land in the deployment zone of the Avengers.

Supergirl managed to do 4 damage on Steve using her Super punch. Capt tried a shield smash and meteor kick but Supergirl just shrugged it off. Captain then used his Avengers Assemble rule to bring Thor closer to the deployment zone. 

End of Turn 4- Red Lanterns 3- Avengers -0

Turn 5

Supergirl tried to Solar Bomb Capt America but he used his shield block to protect himself. She followed up with a super punch causing damage.

Capt stepped out of combat and bounced his shield causing damage. 

Thor flew in and failed to wound Supergirl. 

Hulk then managed to pick up Atrocitus and threw him out of the deployment zone causing 6 damage.

End of turn 5 Red Lanterns 3. Avengers 3.

Turn 6

Zilus flew down and used Napalm breath causing 2 damage on Thor, none on Supergirl and Steve blocked the attack.He then used his massive jaws to bite Thor causing more damage. 

Capt tried to ricochet his shield bounce but failed so then tried to meteor kick Zilus in the face causing 1 damage. 

Supergirl superpunched Thor twice causing enough damage to knock him down. He stood up and then used For Midgard causing 4 damage on Supergirl. 

Atrocitus punched Hulk causing 2 damage. This made Hulk really angry so he Thunderclapped Atrocitus and then threw him out of the deployment zone and killing him.

Final result - Avengers 5. Red Lanterns 3. 

Although pleased to have won we realised Hulk should have taken more damage earlier. However, Paul was very gracious and conceded. 

On the whole pretty pleased with the Avengers but Steve is a bit meh for me. His best attack is his ranged shield bounce. I’m disappointed Iron Man died so quickly but it was a great fun game.
