Making a Bushido Board

After 3 years of not playing, I found someone who was interested in Bushido. He got himself a set of Jung Pirates so we thought it’d be cool to make a coastal board.

I found some thin ply 2ft by 2ft which was £2.60 from my local DIY store. I then glued some sheets of polystyrene that were from some packaging and destined for the tip.

Once dried I watered down some polyfilla and used it to harden the polystyrene and create some texture. I then found a tester poster for some Masonry paint in brown and painted all the polystyrene.

I also used a tester emulsion for the sea and river.

Once dry I added highlights, some flock and sand for the beach. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1QMaV2i95h5x72R5H4GAUNIvcm0Mo0rqs

I already had some buildings and Tori arches but wanted to build a pier. I used some balsa for the main supports, dowel for the uprights and coffee stirrers for the boards.

The finishing touches included water effects which was probably the most expensive part of the board. All in all, I’m really happy with it and we christened it yesterday. Unfortunately I lost but it was a great game. Battle report to follow.
