Battle Report- Jung Pirates vs Ito Clan
Hopefully you’ve seen my previous post featuring my board. My friend and I wanted christen it a couple of weeks ago but due to the heatwave we gave it a miss. We did meet up on Sunday however, to do battle.










I took my Ito Clan with Blood of Orochi giving poison tokens to my various models.
The last time I played against my mate I had great success with Mazuki and Kahime and I love the Ki feats including Hypnotic Gaze and Obey that Mazuki has. I also wanted to try out Kinu and decided to include Sakura so I could keep them near each other and channel Ki from Sakura to Kinu.

I had played against most of these the last time and I was intimidated by Tetsuso and Hitokuchi in particular. Tetsuso is a tank!!
We set up the terrain and agreed water was difficult terrain for me but not the aquatic characters. We opted to play Seikyu. We rolled off and Owen won the first deployment. He set his clan along the board near the pier and smaller building.
I set my clan mainly behind the house, my plan was to secure the house which was the zone, launch arrows and Ki as the Pirates made across the centre of the board. Meanwhile Isas and Chiyo would sneak the left flank to whittle down the enemy who would probably be on the Zen garden zone.
Turn 1
Owen won the priority for the first turn. Activating first, Tetsuso scuttled straight for the middle zone. I moved Mizuki to the front of the building. Owen moved the rest of his clan towards the Zen garden and Hitokuchi through the sea towards the central zone.
Kaihime moved to the front of the house to join Mizuki. Ishi went to the right of the house. Isas and Chiyo made their way across the bridge meanwhile Sakura and Kinu went round the left side of the house.
Ishi fired an arrow into Tetsuso but missed, Kaihime fired, one hit, but it bounced off his crab shell. Yuji fired his pistol but missed.
Turn 2
Ito Clan went first and Mizuki cast hynoptic gaze on Tetsuso. Isas and Chiyo continued to move near cover.
Ishi reloaded her bow and tried to fire at Duri but missed being so far out of range. Kinu tried to spread contagious poison but it missed.
Yuji fired his pistol info Chiyo and took 4 wounds off her. Yori threw his anchor at Isas and between him and Minato Isas was butchered.
In retaliation, Kaihime launched a salvo of arrows into Kourisea killing him instantly.
Hitokuchi swam steadily and joined Tetsuso on the central zone. Mizuki slithered across and then cast Obey to control Hitokuchi. End of turn 2 - 1vp to Ito Clan.
Turn 3
Chiyo was quickly dispatched by Minato and Yuri. As they then approached Kinu, Sakura channeled her Ki allowing Kinu to cause both Yuri and Minato to suffer from contagious poison. Meanwhile Hitokuchi charged into Mizuki and tore her in two and then began chomping through her rubbery tail. In immediate reply, Ishi used her Ki to enable to activate her snapshot and instant killed Hitokuchi.
Turn 4-
Minato and Yuri dispatched both Sakura and Kinu. Kahime slithered across to the house to claim the zone. End of turn 4, 3-3 vp.
Turn 5-
Kaihime fired another set of arrows into Tetuso but only took a couple of wounds off him. Minato and Yuri continued their partnership and slayed Kaihime.

Turn 6- A very short turn. Ishi finished off Minato and moved to the house to claim the zone.
End of the game, a victory to the Jung Pirates, 5-4vp. MVP for Ito- Ishi with her bow skills.
Lessons learnt- maybe take a samurai next time to increase durability. Make sure you always allocate at least a dice to defence rather than all counter attack as 0 can be devastating.
